DAVID BRAYNE RWS

David was born in 1954 and studied at Nottingham School of Art, Gloucestershire College of Art and Exeter University. He exhibits regularly at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and has been awarded many notable prizes. He was elected to the Royal Watercolour Society in 2001 and recently curated the Poet and The Painter exhibition at Bankside Gallery on London's South Bank.

There is a poetry of perception expressed in David's work. His surfaces are chalky dry, reminiscent of early Renaissance frescoes, his colours, while subtly English invariably have a warm vibrant ochre singing out: creating a perfect harmonious palette. He often draws on the wide skies and expansive seas of his Fenland childhood and the hills and coasts of the West Country where he has lived for many years. Landscapes and interiors are both imagined and remembered, figures dissolve into light, land and sea appear blended together in a gentle linear exchange, a lyrical memory.

David mixes his own paint from raw pigments, building up layers of luminous glazes, sometimes working into the surface with pastel and using touches of gold and silver leaf.

CARLY PEARCE
     

Pearce's talent was first recognised whilst studying for her A-Levels, when she was selected to exhibit a life drawing at the Royal Academy of Arts.  This, and an evening class in Photography, led Pearce to pursue her passion and she completed a Foundation course at the Wimbledon College of Art (2000 - 2001), graduating with a Distinction.
Pearce went on to the Central School of St Martins, (2001 - 2004), where she attained a 2:1 BA Hons in Graphic Design specialising in Advertising.

Whilst studying, Pearce also worked part-time for the design house, Brickworks Marketing Communications (2001 - 2002) working for many prestigious clients including, The National Grid and the London Aquarium and WTCS (2004 - 2005) in the creative department, clients included The Independent Newspaper, Superdrug, Silverspoon, Daihatsu and The Department of Health amongst others.

Photographic process prints are made using our Chromira. Known as digital C-Types, it produces digital C41 process prints up to 30" wide. Taking up the area of a small room, it is considered by those in the know as the cutting edge in digital photographic printing. Since a digital C Type is a true photographic process print, the colour integrity and ability for C-Types to produce subtle variance of tone is unparalleled.
 
C-Types also have an outstanding capacity for longevity - which is why digital c types are considered by the industry as true archival quality. Using LED diodes to expose the paper, digital c-type technology means that for each red, green and blue channel, 256 levels of tone are able to be produced per pixel.  With the addition of a stunning array of paper types available, digital C Types are truly a revolutionary step in the ability for photographers to produce truly beautiful prints.



JACK VETTRIANO

Born in Fife, Scotland in 1951, Jack Vettriano left school at sixteen to become a mining engineer. For his twenty-first birthday, a girlfriend gave him a set of watercolour paints and, from then on, he spent much of his spare time teaching himself to paint.

In 1989, he submitted two paintings to the Royal Scottish Academy's annual exhibition; both were accepted and sold on the first day. The following year, an equally enthusiastic reaction greeted the three paintings, which he entered for the prestigious Summer Exhibition at London's Royal Academy and his new life as an artist began from that point on. Over the last twenty years, interest in Vettriano's work has grown consistently. There have been sell-out solo exhibitions in Edinburgh, London, Hong Kong and New York. 2004 was an exceptional year in Vettriano's career; his best known painting, The Singing Butler was sold at Sotheby's for close to £750,000; he was awarded an OBE for Services to the Visual Arts and was the subject of a South Bank Show documentary, entitled 'Jack Vettriano: The People's Painter'.

From 1994-2007, Vettriano was represented by Portland Gallery in London but the relationship ended in June 2007. Since then, Vettriano has been focusing on a variety of private projects, including the launch of a new book, and painting of a portrait of Zara Phillips as part of a charity fundraising project for Sport Relief, the experience of which was captured in a documentary broadcast on BBC1 in March 2008. Vettriano divides his time between his homes in Fife, London and Nice.
